Changelog
Newest first, described by what a release does rather than by what changed in the code — the convention every app in this family uses.
2026.10.24
- AI assistants: connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant to your Tourlet account, then ask it about your trips or have it add and change things for you (Pro). Settings has the server address to copy, a step-by-step guide for each chat app, and the commands for Claude Code and the other command-line tools. On the phone and on the web.
- Connected apps: every app with access to your account, whether it is verified, when it was connected and last used, and what it changed recently. A switch leaves an app read-only, and Disconnect takes its access away. On the phone and on the web.
- Ask an assistant: the button in a trip’s top bar opens a question that already names the trip, and on Days the day you are looking at, ready to send to an assistant. On the phone.
2026.10.23
- Now, redesigned: the Now tab counts down to your next movement in big type, over a tile with its flights, the layover and the whole duration. Today is a timeline of what is done and what is next, followed by what comes after (the layover, the hotel, a free day) and what is still to book; after landing it holds the whole checklist. On the phone and on the web.
- Weather for every day of the trip: every calendar day has its row and its column, an airport stop counts as its city, and your home city is no longer listed as a destination. On the phone and on the web.
2026.10.22
- Who paid, and who owes whom: “Paid by” next to “Booked by” on flights, stays, activities and every other entry with a cost, and “Split among” (everyone, unless you choose) when the trip has more than one traveller. The new Balances view of the Costs tab (Pro) shows what each person paid and owes, and the transfers that settle up. On the phone and on the web.
- “At the airport” before a flight: the stop a flight makes for its departure airport is now 3 hours before the flight instead of at its departure time. Change the default in Settings on the phone or on the Account page on the web, or choose another time for one flight in its form. On the phone and on the web.
2026.10.21
- Export the programme as Markdown or plain text, to paste the itinerary into a notes app or a chat: the trip’s numbers, then every day with its times. On the phone and on the web.
- Where you sleep shows the city and the hotel of each night and the nights spent on a plane or a train, and no longer lists an airport as a place to sleep. On the phone and on the web.
2026.10.20
- Movements (was Transports): your journeys are grouped into Outbound, During the trip and Return, worked out from where the trip starts and ends. Each card shows the times in each place’s own zone, the connections, the booking code, seats and price, and says Done, To book or Booked; the next one carries a countdown, and a same-day round trip is one card. A movement opens in a sheet with each flight, the wait between them and the booking. On the phone and on the web.
- Now: one card on top for what matters at that moment (just landed, flight day, before the trip, a day on the trip), with the rest below in the order that moment needs. On the phone and on the web.
- Checklist reminders (Pro): a checklist can remind you before you leave, on the day, when you land, before the return, every evening or on a date, while something on it is still unticked. On the phone as a notification, on the web by browser notification and e-mail.
- The map’s layer bar: one tile per layer with its count, and a Layers sheet to show or hide stops, the way there and back, flights, trains and lists, with Undo. A day’s map now draws the flights and trains of that day, and two flights between the same airports no longer draw on top of each other.
- Weather by city: days are named and grouped by city instead of by hotel, a travel day reads “Rome → Beijing”, and forecasts are kept apart from climate averages. City names come from OpenStreetMap. On the phone and on the web.
- Fixed: splitting a looked-up flight with “Add connection” kept the first flight’s arrival on the destination’s clock; it is now on the arrival airport’s. Pro prices no longer stay blank until Restore when Google Play is slow to answer at start-up. Flights no longer get two stops for the same airport after an update; the extra copies are removed when the trip is opened, on the phone and on the web.
2026.10.18
- A new Costs tab: one total in the trip’s currency, what you actually spent (Pro) and the budget, listed by day or by category, and exported as a CSV. Costs in other currencies are converted with the European Central Bank’s daily rates, and the rate used is written under the total. On the phone and on the web.
- Day colours go round every 16 days instead of 8, with two new hues, Pine and Olive, and the numbers on light colours are dark, so they are easier to read. On the phone and on the web.
- In Days, the flight out shows on the first day even when it leaves the evening before.
2026.10.17
- Bookings for the places you sleep: tick “I sleep here” on a stop to keep its booking — code, door PIN, check-in and check-out, who booked, the cost and files — and the new Bookings tab lists moves, stays and tickets day by day, with what is still to sort out. On the phone and on the web.
- Every flight goes from its own airport stop to its own airport stop, made for you and drawn with a plane in Days and on the map; the stops near each airport go on their side of the flight. On the phone and on the web.
- The map shows the vehicle of every move, draws real walking, driving, bus and ferry routes with Pro, and can hide the way there and back so it frames the destination.
- Place suggestions can now be closed, and the watch receives booking codes and the status of watched flights.
2026.10.16
- Show or hide the flights on the map with the plane button, so the map fits the places of the trip or of the day instead of the whole flight from home; the list buttons show each list’s icon. On the phone and on the web.
- Every stop has its number in Days, the same as its pin on the map: stops are numbered once for the whole trip, in order, and a suggested stop has none. On the phone and on the web.
- On the web, a new flight or train starts from the last stop of its day and arrives at the next place you sleep, and the look can be light, dark or follow the system.
2026.10.15
- The map no longer closes the app on sights, lighthouses and ports. Since 2026.10.6, a place with the monument, lighthouse or port icon (which every sight and tourist attraction from Google gets) crashed the app as soon as the map drew it. Fixed on both the Play and the F-Droid version.
2026.10.14
- A welcome on first launch: a few pages on how tourlet works (stops, how cities and nights come from them, moves that link themselves, the trip while you travel), then create your first trip or try a sample one, nine days in Japan you can explore and delete. On the web it greets a new account with no trips yet.
- “How does it work?” in Days, Programme and Statistics, on the phone and on the web: a short step-by-step explanation with a drawn example, whenever you want it.
- A day with no stops says where you are (“No stop · you stay in Tokyo”), with “Why?”.
2026.10.13
- Reorder stops by hand: “Reorder stops” in the Days view menu, next to “Done marks”, shows a grip on each stop to drag it into place within its day, on the phone and on the web (where the arrow keys move it too). Off by default and kept with the trip, like the done marks.
- A wrong flight link is said once: a flight linked to a stop far from its airport no longer fills Days with “you are in …” errors; only its own warning, with the one-tap fix, remains. Where the day is named after the flight (Route on the phone, Programme on the web), it uses the airports’ cities.
- The Summary shows each flight once, as the move of the stay it leaves.
2026.10.12
- Italian everywhere, chosen once: the web app is now in Italian too, and the language you choose (Automatic, English or Italiano, in Settings on the phone or the account page on the web) is kept in your profile, so both follow it.
- A flight finds its stops: it links to the stop in its airport’s city, offers the arrival city as a new stop when the trip does not have it yet, and a flight linked to the wrong stop is pointed out with a one-tap fix, before saving and in Days.
- Flights on the map follow their airports, through the layovers (“PEK · 1 h 30”).
- On the web: hours can be typed straight (“1630”), the Summary cards line up, the map beside the days goes all the way to the last day, and every page ends with the version.
2026.10.11
- Footprints, a travel diary: a moment with a few words, the place and up to ten photos, from the Now tab, Days or the map. On the Play version the photos go to your own Google Drive (a “tourlet” folder, only files the app made); on F-Droid they stay on the phone. Each footprint is yours only or shared with the people following the trip. On the web too, the followers’ page shows them.
- Trip video, much more to choose from: 15, 30 or 60 seconds or free, how the camera follows each move, a light or dark map, a moving vehicle for every mode, close-up maps for short moves, your footprints with their photos, and music from a file on your phone.
- Who is travelling: the travellers’ names on the trip and a seat for each on a flight or a train (a boarding pass puts its seat under the right name). The live share says who is on board.
- What followers see: the live share and the public link choose whether days, map, lists and footprints are shown. The followers’ page has a 3D globe with the vehicle where the travellers are and the sunlit side of the Earth.
- Stats, redesigned, in the app and on the web: the trip in numbers, how you get around, the rhythm of the days, on foot and on wheels, where you sleep, how far it reaches, footprints, and a card to share.
- Notes on a movement, private. A stop by hand: paste coordinates or a map link, or pick the point on a map, and type the street address. “I sleep here” until a chosen day.
- On the web: a Weather tab, the days beside the map on wide screens, the checklist ticks fixed and the top tabs clickable.
2026.10.10
- No more false warnings. A trip that reaches a few cities by car or local bus, with no flight or train between them, no longer shows red warnings on every stop and activity there; the same on the web and on the shared page, where the planner’s warnings are no longer shown at all.
- Programme: each day’s rows follow the journey — leave, travel, arrive — with the right icon for every mode and the modes named in your language, in the PDF and calendar exports too. A city’s things planned are counted the same way on the phone and on the web.
- Trip video: a preview before you make it; turning the phone no longer stops it, and very large photos no longer make it fail.
- Days: room under the strip of days, and compact rows for places without a photo.
- Every trip in progress is under Current on the home screen. Smaller fixes: New trip buttons above the gesture bar, map buttons above the tab bar, the side tabs clear of the clock on a phone held sideways, Save always in reach in the add sheets, and the Italian wording.
2026.10.9
- Trip video. From the Sharing tab, a 9:16, 4:5 or 16:9 video of the trip (15, 30 or 60 s): the map moving city to city with each move’s mode and duration, a card for each stay with its nights and your own photo, and the trip’s numbers at the end. It is made on the phone, nothing is uploaded; by default it shows cities and modes, the recorded route only if you choose it. Share it to Instagram Stories or save it to the gallery.
- The trip at a glance. The Programme tab can show the trip by city (nights in the same city become one stay), in numbers with a calendar of where you sleep, or in two lines to copy and share.
- Bigger place photos in Days, medium or large, and a switch to hide the done ticks.
- Checklist tab. Ready-made checklists filled from the trip — before you leave, departure day, just landed, packing, before going home, every evening — and the right one shows up in Now when you need it. Checklists moved here from Lists and never appear on the public link.
- The People tab is now called Sharing. On a phone held sideways, the side rail shows when more tabs are below.
2026.10.8
- Follow the trip. With Pro, “Share live” gives a link that lets family and friends follow your flights as they happen and your last position, without an account: in the browser, or in the app if they have it. They can be told about delays, gate changes, take-off and landing by browser notification, e-mail, Telegram (@gpm_tourlet_bot) or the app. You choose an exact position or one of about a kilometre, can pause it and remove anybody; the link stops working the day after the trip ends. They only ever see your last position, never a route.
- Weather tab. Now and the next hours where you are, each day of the trip on one temperature scale next to what you planned (heavy rain on an outdoor day is pointed out), and a day sheet hour by hour. Before forecasts exist it shows the usual climate of each city, daylight and when it gets dark, and what to pack.
- Checklists. What to pack becomes a checklist «Packing», a new kind of list you can also make by hand, shared with the trip and kept off the public link.
- Route tab. From the route you record: how you got around (on foot, metro, train, car, plane…, guessed from the speed and from your planned legs, and correctable), which stops you made, ticked off by themselves in Days, and the stops nobody planned, to add with a tap. The kilometres per mode and day by day for the whole trip.
- Better with large fonts, with a phone on its side and on foldables: date and time fields, the pickers, the trip header and the trip list adapt instead of cutting text.
2026.10.7
- Dates, times and time zones are real fields instead of buttons: the label above, the date and the time side by side, and under them the time zone the time is in, with its offset on that day (“Rome time · CEST, UTC+2”). The web app has the same fields.
- Dates are picked in a sheet with the trip’s days at hand and a calendar that shows the trip; the trip’s own dates are one range. Times are typed, with ±5 minutes and ±1 hour buttons, instead of being set on a clock dial.
- A leg shows how long it takes, and an arrival on another day says “+1 day”. When the arrival comes before the departure, the app says by how much and offers the likely fix in one tap: the next day, or the afternoon instead of the morning.
- Time zones are chosen from a list you can search by city, country or UTC offset, with the zone of the place and the trip’s own zones first, each with its name, its offset and the time there now. A trip’s departure and return cities show their zone, and a clock change during the trip is mentioned.
2026.10.6
- The Days tab is redesigned, with three views to choose per trip, seen by everyone on it. Timeline puts everything in order of time on a rail, with flights and trains where they happen and a night line closing each day; By stay groups the days under the place you sleep, with its photo; Compact is one line per thing, with past days folded. Tap a stop for its sheet: Google Maps, edit, suggestions and photo. Each day’s header has a chip that takes you to its problems.
- One set of 63 icons for lists, activities and saved places (restaurants, museums, beaches, hotels, stations and more) replaces the emoji, on the Days, Now and programme views and on the map pins. Pick one, or let the place’s type choose it; a saved place put on a day keeps its list’s icon and colour.
- A stop is an arrival, and “I sleep here” marks the stop where the nights are spent until the next one. A trip has a departure city and a return city, each with its time zone, so the outbound flight and the way home are timed right; they stay private, out of the public link and of Explore. A hotel booking becomes a sleeping stop at check-in.
- With Pro, forward booking mails to a trip: Edit trip gives it its own e-mail address. Flights, trains, buses, ferries, hotels, events, restaurants and rental cars wait in an Imported list; Add shows what will be created before anything goes into the trip, Move sends a booking to another trip and Discard drops it.
- Between two stops you can go by bike, or by public transport: train, bus, metro, ferry or plane, each with its own estimate. Any stop, spot or activity opens in Google Maps, and the trip map’s markers carry each stop’s number and open a card.
- Settings → Notifications chooses how you hear about changes other people make to a shared trip: on this phone, in the web browser or by e-mail. The notifications say who and how many, at most one per trip every 10 minutes.
- Profile pictures can be SVG, and the picture Google gave you is shown to the people you share a trip with.
- On a tablet or an unfolded foldable a trip opens full screen; on a half-opened foldable sheets, dialogs and the Now tab stay off the fold.
- Pro pauses while Google Play cannot charge your subscription, and the app says so with Fix payment; it comes back by itself once the payment goes through.
- Deleting a trip published to Explore offers to remove the publication too, and pull to refresh works below a short list.
2026.10.5
- Share a boarding pass to Tourlet, from the mail app, the airline’s app or your files: a PDF, a screenshot or a Wallet pass. Tourlet reads its barcode, shows the flight and the trip it fits by date, and opens the leg form filled in between the matching stops. Nothing is saved until you save the leg, and on a flight you had already added only the empty fields are filled. With attachments (Pro) the file is kept on the flight; the passenger’s name is never kept. It all happens on the phone, and works for flights only for now.
- On a large screen, like a 10-inch tablet in landscape or an unfolded Pixel Fold, the trips list and a trip sit side by side. The trip stays open, on the tab you were on, when you fold, unfold or rotate; on a half-opened foldable the list and the trip each keep to one side of the fold.
- With a keyboard attached, Enter on the last field saves New trip, Edit trip and the list and place sheets.
- Change the name your Explore publications appear under, from the first row of ⋮ → My publications.
- When Explore refuses a publication, each text it names is a link to the editor where you can fix it. Your own publications no longer offer Report or Hide author.
- Nothing runs the whole width of a large screen any more, and on a half-opened foldable the floating bar and the notices stay clear of the fold.
2026.10.4
- The sync status is an icon in the bar at the top instead of the “Synced” label: it turns while your trips sync, shows a cloud with a check once they have, a crossed-out cloud when you are offline and a warning when something needs you. Tap it to see how the last sync went and when.
- Pull to refresh needs a much shorter pull, on a trip with a cover photo too.
- A stop keeps the photo you choose for it. Choosing another of Google’s photos, from Now, the Days tab or the stop’s edit sheet, was forgotten as soon as the trip was saved, so the stop went on showing Google’s first one. A photo chosen before this release has to be chosen again.
2026.10.3
- A trip you join from an invitation now shows up on a free account that has trips of its own. Before, accepting the invitation seemed to do nothing: the shared trip never reached your list, not even with a pull to refresh.
2026.10.2
Explore
- A new place beside your trips, in the floating bar or the side rail, for itineraries other people have published. Sort by the most recent or the most liked, filter by world region and country, by budget per person per day and by length. Open one to read its days, movements, lists and map, shown as Day 1, Day 2… and never with the real dates.
- Use this trip makes it yours from the start date you choose: the stops, days, lists and times come across, the movements as planned, and nothing private of the author’s. It counts as one of your trips, and says whose trip it was based on.
- Publish one of your own trips from its Share screen. The first time you choose a public name, which is all anyone sees of you, and accept the community terms. Notes, prices, ticket numbers, the people on the trip, your name, e-mail and the real dates never become public. Update or remove it whenever you like.
- Like a trip, report it, or hide everything by one author. Everything in Explore is free.
Tablets and foldables
- From 600 dp wide, a side rail replaces the floating bar.
- Folding, unfolding or rotating keeps an open sheet and what you typed in it, and the keyboard no longer covers the field you are typing in.
Reminders
- Reminders ring at their exact moment even while the phone sleeps, when “Alarms & reminders” is allowed for Tourlet; Settings → Notifications explains how to allow it.
- A reminder in the hour that happens twice when the clocks go back rings at the right one, and a countdown reminder is no longer dropped as “already started” by mistake.
2026.10.1
Planning
- Google My Maps, both ways. Export a trip as a KML file that My Maps opens as layers: the itinerary coloured by day, the movements, and one layer per list (Pro, like every export). Import a file exported from My Maps, and each layer becomes a list of places in the trip, with an icon picked from the layer’s name (Pro). The file is only read on the phone.
- Every stop says what the weather is usually like on its dates, and, for the next ten days or so, the forecast. Now has a Weather section for the whole trip (Pro).
- Each day in the Days tab ends with where you spend the night, or says there is no place to sleep yet.
Travelling
- Notifications are split into six channels you can silence one by one: flights, transport, activities, tomorrow, useful notices and your own reminders.
- While a trip is on, an evening notification sums up tomorrow.
- Notices for a ticket still to buy, the mornings of check-in and check-out, and the day the trip starts.
- Your own reminders on a trip: at a date and time, or a set time before the trip, a movement or an activity. Everyone on the trip sees them, and they ring with Pro.
- Settings → Notifications: a switch for each kind, how early to be told before a departure, and the hour of the evening summary.
Sharing
- Invitations show at the top of Trips, with Accept and Decline right there.
Fixes
- Choosing another photo for a stop works for every photo, not only the first.
- Signing out no longer leaves the previous account’s invitations listed.
- Two crashes on some Android builds are gone: one with an accessibility service on, one when starting a purchase.
2026.9.29
The first production release.
Planning
- A trip is now divided into days. The Days tab shows one card per day, with “Day 1” and the full date, and today is marked. Stops go into days, and the map joins them in each day’s colour.
- Flights can have connections: add a layover flight to a movement, each with its own number, airports and times. Now tells you which flight is next, or where you wait between two.
- Keep lists of places you might go to without giving them a day (where to eat, sights, bars, or a list of your own), tick them off, and add one to a day when you decide.
- A trip can hold alternative itineraries, such as “via Chengdu” and “via Xi’an”. Pick one, and compare them side by side.
- Every stop has suggestions for things to do there, and for how to get to the next one (Pro). Nothing is added until you say so.
- A Costs tab with estimated extra costs, a Transports tab and a Stats tab.
- Dragging a stop or an activity is easier to follow, and activities keep the order you give them.
Travelling
- Watch a flight (Pro): status, delays, gate and baggage belt, with a notification when something changes.
- Route recording per trip (Pro, off by default), with three levels of battery use, and the route can be shown on the map.
- Four home-screen widgets: Now, Countdown, Today and To buy.
- Now has a wide layout on tablets and open foldables.
Sharing
- Changes made by other people on a trip appear within seconds, members who are online show a green dot, and only one person edits a stop at a time.
- Push notifications for invitations and for changes by others (Google Play build; you can turn the second off in Settings).
- A public read-only link to a trip you sync (Pro): anyone can see the plan without an account. Notes, costs, bookings and people are never shown. Turn it off whenever you like.
- Attachments now travel with the trip, so the other people on it can open your receipts and tickets.
- Trip covers, from your gallery or from Unsplash (Google Play build), and profile pictures.
Places and photos
- Google place search and Google’s photos of stops are now part of Tourlet Pro (Google Play build). Everyone else searches with OpenStreetMap. With Pro you can also choose which of Google’s photos a stop shows.
- The F-Droid build has no Pro and no Google: search is OpenStreetMap, covers come from your gallery, and there are no push notifications.
2026.9.21
The first release, in Google Play open testing.
- Trips made of places, legs and day-by-day plans, each place’s times shown in its own timezone.
- A map of the trip and place search as you type (Google Play build).
- Sign in with an address and a mailed code, or with Google.
- Tourlet Pro: sync a trip to your other phones and to the web app, share a trip by invitation, and send the plan to a paired watch. Accepting an invitation to somebody else’s trip is free either way.
- Free, no account needed: up to 10 trips of your own, with a planned budget.
